Can wireless technology deliver the same reliability as traditional wired networks?
Join us in exploring Cisco Ultra-Reliable Wireless Backhaul (URWB) and help answer that question. You’ll investigate, build, test, and analyze a next-generation wireless solution while gaining practical experience with enterprise networking technologies.
Your responsibilities
You will investigate the capabilities of Cisco Ultra-Reliable Wireless Backhaul (URWB) and assess its suitability for industrial and mission-critical wireless communication environments.
The internship combines research, hands-on implementation, testing, and performance analysis. You will start by exploring the architecture, features, and use cases of Cisco URWB and comparing the technology with traditional enterprise Wi-Fi solutions. Based on this research, a practical test environment will be designed and implemented using Cisco networking equipment.
You will configure, validate, and monitor the setup, performing a series of tests to evaluate key performance indicators such as reliability, latency, throughput, roaming performance, resilience, and overall network stability. The collected data will be analyzed and compared against conventional Wi-Fi deployments.
The final deliverable will be an objective assessment of Cisco URWB, including recommendations regarding the environments and use cases where the technology provides the greatest value, as well as potential limitations and considerations for deployment.
